PM Modi to address 2 election rallies in J&K today

Jammu, Dec 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Jammu tomorrow on his fifth visit to Jammu and Kashmir to address 2 election rallies for the ongoing J&K assembly polls simultaneously at Mandi in Billawar and Maulana Azad stadium here amid multi-layer security cover.
Three-tier security cover has been put in place  to ensure smooth and safe rally of the Prime Minister. High officials of the police said that security forces have occupied all high buildings around the stadium to keep a close watch on vehicular and pedestrian movements. “Three thousand security personnel have been deployed in and around the stadium to secure the area and neutralize any threat,” they said.
  DIG Jammu-Samba-Kathua range, Shakeel Beigh said that all adequate security arrangements have been put in place to avoid any untoward incident. “All precautions have been taken to ensure smooth rallies,” he said and added that a thick security cover is placed as per the ‘Blue Book’.

Vehicular traffic restrictions will be imposed in the winter capital to facilitate prime minister’s rally in Jammu. According to SP traffic Jammu, Mohan Lal, GGM Science College  Ground would be used as VIP parking, whereas Commerce College, MAM College, Abhinav Theatre, General Bus Stand, Sports ground Maheshpura and Dangal ground near tawi bridge Bhagwati Nagar would be used as parking for general public.
The vehicular movement will remain suspended from all routes towards stadium till the end of the rally, he said.
According to BJP state unit, it will be Modi’s fifth visit to the state for election campaigning and his tenth visit to Jammu and Kashmir since he took over as the Prime Minister.
Earlier, he visited different districts of J&K according to election schedule, on Nov 22 he visited Kishtwar, Nov 28-Udhampur and Poonch, December 8 at Srinagar and Samba and on December 13 he visited Rajouri and kathua.
BJP’s State spokesperson, Arun Gupta said that the party has finalized all preparations. “We expect more people than the previous rallies, as he (Modi) is addressing his last couple of rallies in the state” he added.
 He said, “Several small and big hoardings have been erected in and around the venue. Besides, more than 50, 000 chairs have also been ordered for the occasion.”
Talking to Greater Kashmir, party’s general secretary (organization), Ashok Koul said that Jammu is all set to welcome Prime Minister for his last election rallies in the state.
“As Modi is arriving in Jammu, we expect at least two lakh people at each venue. Therefore keeping such a huge number in mind, we have reduced the number of chairs and people will be guided to sit on ground to hear Modi,” he said and added that as many as 20 Assembly constituencies have been identified from where people are expected to come.
He further shared that in the  last two rallies, the PRIme Minister would primarily focus on the issues of youth and development of Jammu region.
“Modi always talks about development and here also we expect him to address people keeping focus on the youth and development of the Jammu region,” said General Secretary (organization).
